Notes
Pad numbers are the fab file's JP1 pad numbers on 'Adafruit AS7343 14 Channel Light Color Sensor Breakout.brd' (JP1 = 1X06_ROUND_70). The labels are the vendor's own pin names from Adafruit's pinouts page (VIN, GND, SCL, SDA, INT, GPIO) mapped onto the pads by the fab file's nets (VCC, GND, SCL, SDA, INT, GPIO) rather than read off printed silk, so the header order is the file's, not a silkscreen reading. Recorded contradiction: the pinouts page says the regulator converts 3-5 V to 3 V for the sensor, while the fab file wires X1's VDD to U1's 1.8 V output and the AS7343 datasheet gives VDD 1.7-1.98 V with a 1.98 V absolute maximum; both statements are recorded and the entry follows the fab file and the datasheet. datasheet_url is Adafruit's own CDN copy of ams OSRAM's AS7343 datasheet DS001046 v6-00 (58 pages, application/pdf, verified 200). The sensor footprint in the fab file is named AS7341 while the fitted part is the AS7343 - the two are not pin-compatible in firmware, the guide says an AS7343 needs its own driver. Pimoroni quotes 15.75 GBP for this SKU where the earlier queue fetch recorded 22.00.

BOARD: Adafruit product 6477, the AS7343 14-Channel Light / Color Sensor Breakout - an ams OSRAM AS7343 multi-spectral sensor in an OLGA-8 package (3.1 x 2 x 1 mm) that contains 25 photodiodes covering 11 overlapping visible bands plus near infrared, a clear channel and a flicker channel, 14 channels in total. The breakout adds a dual-output regulator (AP7312-3.3/1.8), a BSS138 level shifter, decoupling, a white illumination LED wired to the sensor's own LED driver, a green power LED and two JST-SH STEMMA QT / Qwiic sockets. Pimoroni resells it as SKU ADA6477 at 15.75 GBP as measured; Adafruit is the maker. ADDRESSES: I2C 0x39, fixed - ams OSRAM lists 0x39 as the slave address for both AS7343 order codes and the board has no address jumper, so two of these need a bus multiplexer. PINOUT: 6 pads on JP1. Pad 1 = VIN (power in; the fab file calls the net VCC), pad 2 = GND, pad 3 = SCL, pad 4 = SDA, pad 5 = GPIO (the sensor's own open-drain GPIO pin), pad 6 = INT (open-drain interrupt). The two STEMMA QT sockets (CONN3, CONN4) carry the same four nets, each pad 1 GND, pad 2 VCC, pad 3 SDA, pad 4 SCL. Both STEMMA sockets are one bus, not two. SUPPLY: VIN takes 3 V to 5 V; U1 (AP7312-3.3/1.8) makes 3.3 V for the level shifter's high side and the LEDs, and 1.8 V for the sensor. The AS7343's own supply is 1.7 V to 1.98 V (1.8 V typical) with an absolute maximum of 1.98 V on VDD - it is a 1.8 V part and 3.3 V on the VDD pin would destroy it, which is why the regulator and the level shifter are on the board. Current: 210 uA typical active, 280 uA maximum; 40 uA typical idle; 0.7 uA typical in sleep. LOGIC LEVEL: the host side follows VIN, 3 to 5 V; the sensor side is 1.8 V, its SCL/SDA threshold is VIH 1.26 V and VIL 0.54 V. The digital pins (SCL, SDA, GPIO, INT) are rated -0.3 V to 3.6 V absolute maximum and the LDR pin -0.3 V to 3.6 V, so the 1.8 V sensor will survive a 3.3 V host only through the shifter that is fitted. REFERENCE CIRCUIT: as built, from the fab file. X1 is the AS7343 (its footprint is named AS7341 while its value is AS7343). C2 10 uF on VIN, C4 10 uF on the 3.3 V output, C3 10 uF and C1 0.1 uF on the 1.8 V rail next to the sensor. Q2 is the BSS138 shifter; R3 is a four-resistor 10 kOhm pack with one resistor from VCC to SCL, one from 1.8 V to the sensor's SCL, one from VCC to SDA and one from 1.8 V to the sensor's SDA, so both sides of the bus idle high. R1 10 kOhm feeds the green ON LED and SJ1 is the closed-wire jumper in series with it, which is the trace the guide says to cut. LED1, the white illumination LED, sits between VCC and the sensor's LDR pin, which is a current sink - the LED has no series resistor of its own because the AS7343's LED driver sets the current in software. TRAPS: the vendor's pinouts prose says the on-board regulator converts 3-5 V to 3 V for the sensor, but the fab file puts the sensor on the 1.8 V output of the AP7312-3.3/1.8 and the ams OSRAM datasheet's absolute maximum on VDD is 1.98 V, so the 1.8 V figure is the one to trust. The address is fixed at 0x39 both by the datasheet's ordering table and by the guide. INT and GPIO are open-drain outputs with no pull-ups fitted on those two lines, so each needs a pull-up on the host side to be read. The white LED and the power LED both draw from the 3.3 V rail. The sensor is not a camera: it returns channel counts, and flicker detection has its own register path.
